Every two years, the European opera singing competition Debut in southern Germany picks a new winner.About 200 opera singers - both men and women - are participating in 2010. The contest is considered a springboard for an international career in opera. Manfred Wittenstein is sponsoring this year's event, which comes with a grand prize of 25,000 euros.
